Past Paper Analysis

Instructor: CSP Qasim Farooq

This collection reviews a selection of past CSS papers across several subjects, walking through how a strong answer might be approached. It is not a complete archive of past papers and not an official or comprehensive solution set; many papers and questions are not covered. Use it to see how one experienced reader reasons through a question, then apply the same approach to papers of your own choosing.

How to use these paper reviews

Watching a review is not the same as attempting the question yourself, so treat each video as a check on your own working rather than the first step.

  1. Read and classify the question before watching. Decide what type of question it is and what an answer needs to cover, so you can judge the review against your own reading.
  2. Prepare an independent outline first. Write your own points and structure before watching the review, even a rough one, so the comparison that follows is between two real attempts.
  3. Compare reasoning, not wording. Note where the review's structure or argument differs from yours and why, rather than copying its phrasing into your own answer.
  4. Revise your outline and practise under time. Rewrite it using what the comparison showed, then attempt a full answer to a similar question within the exam's time limit.

The reviews are most useful as a check on your own reasoning, not as answers to learn and reproduce.
