How to Apply for CSS MPT 2027: A Step-by-Step Guide

Update — 21 August 2026: FPSC has rescheduled the MPT to Saturday, 10 October 2026. It was previously scheduled for Sunday, 27 September. The application deadline and all other conditions remain unchanged.

The CSS MPT 2027 application was made online through FPSC's Apply Online portal, and it closed before 20 August 2026. There was no paper form, and no bank challan.

This is the procedure exactly as FPSC sets it out in public notice No.F.2/1/2026-CE, issued 2 August 2026. You can read the notice on fpsc.gov.pk. Where a detail is not in that notice, this page says so rather than filling the gap with a guess.

How do I apply for CSS MPT 2027?

In six steps, all of them online, through FPSC's Apply Online portal.

1. Create an account on the FPSC Apply Online portal, then log in and complete or update your profile.
2. Fill the prescribed MPT-2027 application form.
3. Generate a 16-digit PSID for the Rs 250 online fee. The PSID is mandatory — it is the reference your payment is made against, and the fee cannot be paid without one.
4. Pay the fee through 1-Link: an ATM, a mobile banking app such as Easypaisa or JazzCash, internet banking, or the counter at any 1-Link member bank.
5. Log back in through the same Apply Online link and enter the remaining required details to complete the application.
6. Download your admission certificate yourself from fpsc.gov.pk, at least ten days before the test.

Two things in that sequence caught people out. The application was not finished at the point of payment — step 5 was a separate return visit, and skipping it left a settled fee against an incomplete application. And every step depended on the PSID existing first, so a PSID generated on the final day left no room for anything to go wrong.

What is the last date to apply?

Applications closed before 20 August 2026.

The test itself is on Saturday, 10 October 2026. The 19 August rescheduling notice moved the test date only: it provides no late window, no late fee and no extension, and it did not reopen the application window.

If you applied, the useful thing to check now is that the application actually completed — paying the fee was not the final step, and step 5 below is a separate return visit. The full CE-2027 calendar is in the schedule article.

How do I pay the Rs 250 fee?

Generate a 16-digit PSID in the portal, then settle that PSID through the 1-Link network.

The fee is Rs 250. Once you hold the PSID, you can pay it:

• at an ATM
• in a mobile banking app, including Easypaisa and JazzCash
• by internet banking
• over the counter at any 1-Link member bank

The PSID is what ties your payment to your application, so keep the number until you have confirmed the application is complete.

Can I pay by bank challan?

No. A bank challan is not accepted for CE-2027, and a payment made that way will be rejected.

This needs saying plainly, because it is the most common piece of out-of-date advice about this application. A number of widely-read CSS preparation guides still describe the MPT fee as something you pay by challan — an FPSC Challan Form TR-6, or a Treasury Receipt handed across the counter at a National Bank or State Bank branch. That was the procedure in earlier cycles. It is not the procedure now.

The notice is explicit about what will not be accepted:

• the old FPSC Challan Form TR-6
• cheques
• bank drafts
• pay orders

Only the 16-digit PSID, settled through 1-Link, is accepted.

Why this mattered more than an ordinary correction: the application window was eighteen days long. A candidate following the old advice spent part of that window queueing at a branch to pay against a form the Commission would not process, and usually found out only when the application would not go through. There was no late window to absorb the loss. If a guide, a coaching centre handout or a forwarded message tells you to prepare a challan, it is describing a previous cycle.

What happens after I pay?

You log back in through the same Apply Online link and enter the remaining required details. Paying is not the final step.

The notice sets this out as its own distinct stage: once the fee is paid, the candidate returns to the portal through the same Apply Online link and completes the outstanding information. Until that is done the application is not complete, however cleanly the fee went through.

The safest sequence was to log back in the same day, while the PSID and the payment confirmation were still to hand.

When do I get my admission certificate?

You download it yourself from fpsc.gov.pk, at least ten days before the test — so from around 30 September 2026.

No separate intimation is sent. Nothing arrives by post, email or SMS to tell you it is ready. The responsibility to go and check is yours, and you will not be admitted to the examination hall without the certificate.

Set a late-September reminder now, while you are thinking about it, rather than trusting yourself to remember in six weeks. If you already set one against the original 27 September test date, move it — it is now thirteen days early.

Can I change my exam centre?

No. Once an examination centre has been selected it cannot be changed.

The MPT is held in 19 cities, listed in the notice. The centre was chosen at the point of application, and the rescheduling notice opens no transfer window — so the city you selected is the city you travel to on Saturday, 10 October. Note that the day of the week moved as well as the date: if your travel depends on a weekend timetable, check it against a Saturday rather than the Sunday you may have planned for.

The notice sets out no transfer process, so treat the choice as final at the moment you make it.

What if I enter my CNIC or date of birth wrong?

Your application will be rejected. The notice singles out both fields specifically.

Both had to be entered from the card itself, character by character — not from memory, and not copied across from an older application. If you still have access to your submitted application, check both fields against the card rather than assuming they went in correctly. This is a self-inflicted rejection that costs a full cycle.

The same caution applies to your eligibility as a whole. Being allowed to sit the test is not a ruling that you qualify: candidates are admitted provisionally and at their own risk, under Rules 11(20) and 11(21) of the CSS Competitive Examination Rules 2019. If you do not in fact meet the conditions, that surfaces later — after you have paid, prepared and sat the paper.

What did the application require?

One item is confirmed by the notice: a valid CNIC, because the CNIC and date of birth entered had to be correct. Everything else in this section is general preparation advice, not a stated FPSC requirement.

Confirmed by the notice:

• Your CNIC, in front of you, so the number and date of birth were entered from the card rather than from memory.

General advice, not specified in the notice:

• Your degree result or transcript, to confirm the second-division bachelor's requirement without guessing.
• Your domicile details.
• An email address and mobile number you will still have access to through October.
• A way to pay Rs 250 through 1-Link — a bank app, internet banking, or an ATM card.

The notice does not describe the portal's screens, the fields on the form, or any document uploads, so this page does not describe them either. Anything you read elsewhere listing specific upload requirements for this cycle is not coming from the notice.

Am I eligible in the first place?

Worth settling now rather than at document verification. In outline, from the notice: you must be 21 to 30 years old on 31 December 2026, with a two-year relaxation available only to the categories in Rule 6; you need a bachelor's degree of at least Second Division; and that 31 December 2026 cut-off governs qualification and domicile as well as age.

Do not take a procedural answer from a private website, this one included, when the Commission itself can give you one.
