CSS 2027 MPT: Dates and How to Apply

The CSS 2027 MPT was held on Saturday, 10 October 2026, in 19 cities. Online applications closed before 20 August 2026, and the deadline was never extended.

This page keeps the full CE-2027 calendar and the application procedure exactly as FPSC set them out. Everything below comes from FPSC's original public notice No.F.2/1/2026-CE for the CSS Competitive Examination 2027, issued on 2 August 2026, and from the rescheduling notice of 19 August 2026. You can read the original notice on fpsc.gov.pk. Where a date or detail is not in either notice, this page says so rather than filling the gap with a guess.

When was the CSS MPT 2027?

Saturday, 10 October 2026.

FPSC rescheduled the test from its original date, Sunday, 27 September 2026. The change was announced through Public Notice F.2-2/2027(MPT)/CE-II, dated 19 August 2026, following the announcement of a protest on the original test date. All other terms and conditions remained unchanged.

The detail that caught people out was the one the notice did not change: the application deadline was not extended. Online applications closed before 20 August 2026, and the rescheduling did not reopen them.

Not confirmed in either notice. The four dates below come from FPSC's earlier advance notice for this cycle and are not restated, so treat them as planning estimates only:

• 8 November 2026: written examination advertisement
• 10 to 25 November 2026: written applications
• 4 December 2026: hard copies due at FPSC
• 27 January 2027: written examination begins

Confirm anything you are about to act on against fpsc.gov.pk. Nothing on this page, or on any private website, overrides the Commission's own notification.

What is the last date to apply?

Applications closed before 20 August 2026.

The 19 August rescheduling notice moved the test date only. It did not extend the deadline, reopen the window, create a late window or add a late fee. If you did not apply before 20 August, there is no CSS 2027 for you: not a delayed attempt, simply nothing until the next cycle.

How do I apply for CSS MPT 2027?

In six steps, all of them online, through FPSC's Apply Online portal. There was no paper form, and no bank challan.

This is the procedure exactly as FPSC sets it out in public notice No.F.2/1/2026-CE, issued 2 August 2026.

1. Create an account on the FPSC Apply Online portal, then log in and complete or update your profile.
2. Fill the prescribed MPT-2027 application form.
3. Generate a 16-digit PSID for the Rs 250 online fee. The PSID is mandatory: it is the reference your payment is made against, and the fee cannot be paid without one.
4. Pay the fee through 1-Link: an ATM, a mobile banking app such as Easypaisa or JazzCash, internet banking, or the counter at any 1-Link member bank.
5. Log back in through the same Apply Online link and enter the remaining required details to complete the application.
6. Download your admission certificate yourself from fpsc.gov.pk, at least ten days before the test.

Two things in that sequence caught people out. The application was not finished at the point of payment: step 5 was a separate return visit, and skipping it left a settled fee against an incomplete application. And every step depended on the PSID existing first, so a PSID generated on the final day left no room for anything to go wrong.

How do I pay the Rs 250 fee?

For CE-2027 the fee was Rs 250, paid by generating a 16-digit PSID in the portal and settling that PSID through the 1-Link network.

Once you held the PSID, you could pay it:

• at an ATM
• in a mobile banking app, including Easypaisa and JazzCash
• by internet banking
• over the counter at any 1-Link member bank

The PSID was what tied your payment to your application.

Can I pay by bank challan?

No. A bank challan was not accepted for CE-2027, and money handed over that way did not become a valid application fee.

This needs saying plainly, because it is the most common piece of out-of-date advice about this application. A number of widely-read CSS preparation guides still describe the MPT fee as something you pay by challan: an FPSC Challan Form TR-6, or a Treasury Receipt handed across the counter at a National Bank or State Bank branch. That was the procedure in earlier cycles. It was not the procedure for CE-2027.

The notice was explicit about what would not be accepted:

• the old FPSC Challan Form TR-6
• cheques
• bank drafts
• pay orders

Only the 16-digit PSID, settled through 1-Link, was accepted.

Why this mattered more than an ordinary correction: the application window was eighteen days long. A candidate following the old advice spent part of that window queueing at a branch to pay against a form the Commission would not process, and usually found out only when the application would not go through. There was no late window to absorb the loss.

What happens after I pay?

You log back in through the same Apply Online link and enter the remaining required details. Paying is not the final step.

The notice sets this out as its own distinct stage: once the fee is paid, the candidate returns to the portal through the same Apply Online link and completes the outstanding information. Until that was done the application was not complete, however cleanly the fee went through.

The safest sequence was to log back in the same day, while the PSID and the payment confirmation were still to hand.

When do I get my admission certificate?

For CE-2027 you downloaded it yourself from fpsc.gov.pk, at least ten days before the test, so from around 30 September 2026.

No separate intimation was sent. Nothing arrived by post, email or SMS to say it was ready. The responsibility to go and check was yours, and you would not be admitted to the examination hall without the certificate.

Can I change my exam centre?

No. Once an examination centre had been selected it could not be changed.

The MPT was held in 19 cities, listed in the notice. The centre was chosen at the point of application, and the rescheduling notice opened no transfer window, so the city you selected was the city you sat the test in on Saturday, 10 October, rather than on the Sunday the test was first set for.

The notice set out no transfer process, so the choice was final at the moment you made it.

What if I enter my CNIC or date of birth wrong?

Under the CE-2027 notice, the application was rejected. The notice singles out both fields specifically.

Both had to be entered from the card itself, character by character: not from memory, and not copied across from an older application. This is a self-inflicted rejection that costs a full cycle.

The same caution applies to your eligibility as a whole. Being allowed to sit the test is not a ruling that you qualify: candidates are admitted provisionally and at their own risk, under Rules 11(20) and 11(21) of the CSS Competitive Examination Rules 2019. If you do not in fact meet the conditions, that surfaces later, after you have paid, prepared and sat the paper.

What did the application require?

One item is confirmed by the notice: a valid CNIC, because the CNIC and date of birth entered had to be correct. Everything else in this section is general preparation advice, not a stated FPSC requirement.

Confirmed by the notice:

• Your CNIC, in front of you, so the number and date of birth were entered from the card rather than from memory.

General advice, not specified in the notice:

• Your degree result or transcript, to confirm the second-division bachelor's requirement without guessing.
• Your domicile details.
• An email address and mobile number you would still have access to through October.
• A way to pay Rs 250 through 1-Link: a bank app, internet banking, or an ATM card.

The notice does not describe the portal's screens, the fields on the form, or any document uploads, so this page does not describe them either. Anything you read elsewhere listing specific upload requirements for this cycle is not coming from the notice.

Am I eligible in the first place?

Worth settling now rather than at document verification. In outline, from the notice: you must be 21 to 30 years old on 31 December 2026, with a two-year relaxation available only to the categories in Rule 6; you need a bachelor's degree of at least Second Division; and that 31 December 2026 cut-off governs qualification and domicile as well as age.

The time you keep by not over-preparing belongs to the written examination, which is what actually sets your merit, and it is what our courses teach.

What the new date changed

It added thirteen days to the run-up, and nothing else. Moving the test from 27 September to 10 October changed no other term or condition.

The advice on this page at the time was to keep MPT work proportionate rather than spend the extra days inflating it. The MPT is a qualifying gate at 33% with no negative marking; the written papers set your merit. Time spent inflating screening-test preparation is time taken from the exam that actually decides your result.

The gap between screening and written narrowed slightly. The MPT was held on 10 October, and on the earlier advance calendar the written examination does not begin until 27 January. If that holds, this cycle hands you approximately three and a half months between the screening test and the exam that decides your result.

That is still the most valuable feature of this calendar. The MPT is a qualifying test: it filters, it does not rank. Your merit position is set by the written examination and the interview that follows. Aspirants who take those months seriously will sit the written papers having done three and a half focused months of essay practice, précis work and optional-subject reading. Aspirants who spend the rest of October recovering from the test, and November waiting for the advertisement, will sit the same papers having done perhaps six weeks of real work.

Same calendar. Very different outcomes.

The run-up to the test, and what comes next

Before the test, this page set out the plan below. It is kept as a record of the CE-2027 run-up, and as a template for pacing the next one:

• Before the test. Confirm the application is complete rather than assuming it. Then sit a full-length mock under real conditions: 200 questions, 200 minutes, no phone. • Through 9 October. Prepare for the screening test, proportionately. Fix whichever section the diagnostic exposed, and sit a second mock late enough to measure whether the fix held.
• From about 30 September. Download your admission certificate from fpsc.gov.pk. Nobody will remind you.
• Saturday, 10 October. Sit the test. There is no negative marking, so leave nothing blank.

Do not take a procedural answer from a private website, this one included, when the Commission itself can give you one.
