CSS 2027 MPT Date: 10 October 2026 (Updated Schedule)

FPSC has rescheduled the CSS CE-2027 MPT to Saturday, 10 October 2026. It was previously scheduled for Sunday, 27 September 2026. The change was announced through Public Notice F.2-2/2027(MPT)/CE-II, dated 19 August 2026, following the announcement of a protest on the original test date. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

The detail that catches people out is the one the notice does not change: the application deadline was not extended. Online applications closed before 20 August 2026, and the rescheduling did not reopen them.

When is the CSS MPT 2027?

Saturday, 10 October 2026.

If you have 27 September written in a planner, a coaching-centre handout or a forwarded message, it is out of date. That was the original date and it no longer stands.

Note the change of day as well as the change of date. The original test fell on a Sunday; the rescheduled test is on a Saturday. If your travel to the centre depends on a weekend timetable, check it against Saturday rather than assuming the arrangement you had already made still works.

What is the last date to apply?

Applications closed before 20 August 2026.

The rescheduling notice moved the test date only. It did not extend the deadline, reopen the window, create a late window or add a late fee. If you did not apply before 20 August, there is no CSS 2027 for you — not a delayed attempt, simply nothing until the next cycle.

If you did apply, the thing to verify now is that your application actually completed. The procedure has a step people miss: paying the Rs 250 fee is not the final action, and an application left at that stage is incomplete however cleanly the payment went through. How was the Rs 250 fee paid?

The fee is Rs 250, paid by generating a 16-digit PSID and settling that PSID through 1-Link. It was never payable by challan at a bank counter this cycle.

The procedure, as set out in the 2 August notice:

1. Generate a 16-digit PSID (Payment Slip ID) for your application.
2. Pay that PSID through the 1-Link network, using any of:
   • an ATM
   • a mobile banking app, including Easypaisa and JazzCash
   • internet banking
   • the counter at any 1-Link member bank

What was not accepted. The notice is explicit. The old FPSC Challan Form TR-6 is not accepted, and neither are cheques, bank drafts or pay orders. Money handed over by any of those routes did not become a valid application fee.

This mattered because a number of CSS guidance sites still describe the MPT fee as a challan paid over a counter at a National Bank or State Bank branch. That was the procedure in earlier cycles. If you paid that way and your application has not been confirmed, FPSC's UAN is the only place that can tell you where you stand.

Where is the test held, and can I change my centre?

The MPT will be held in 19 cities, listed in the notice.

Once an examination centre has been selected it cannot be changed. The rescheduling notice does not alter this and does not open a transfer window, so the centre you chose at application is the centre you sit at — on Saturday, 10 October, rather than the Sunday you may have planned around.

How do I get my admission certificate?

You download it yourself from fpsc.gov.pk, at least ten days before the test — so from around 30 September 2026.

No separate intimation is sent. Nothing arrives by post, email or SMS to tell you it is ready. If you wait for something to turn up, nothing will. Set a reminder for late September now, while you are thinking about it — and if you already set one for mid-September against the old date, move it.

Two mistakes that end the cycle before you sit the paper

A wrong CNIC or date of birth. Entering either incorrectly on the application leads to rejection. If you still have access to your submitted application, check both against the card itself, character by character — not from memory, and not copied from an old form.

Assuming that being allowed to sit means you are eligible. Candidates are admitted to the test provisionally and at their own risk, under Rules 11(20) and 11(21) of the CSS Competitive Examination Rules 2019. Admission to the hall is not a ruling on your eligibility. If you do not actually meet the conditions, that surfaces later — after you have paid, prepared and sat the paper. Not confirmed in either notice. The four dates below come from FPSC's earlier advance notice for this cycle and are not restated, so treat them as planning estimates only:

• 8 November 2026 — written examination advertisement
• 10 to 25 November 2026 — written applications
• 4 December 2026 — hard copies due at FPSC
• 27 January 2027 — written examination begins

Confirm anything you are about to act on against fpsc.gov.pk. Nothing on this page, or on any private website, overrides the Commission's own notification.

What the new date changes

You have thirteen more days than you had. Moving the test from 27 September to 10 October adds thirteen days to the run-up, and nothing else. It is a genuine addition and worth having, particularly if a diagnostic mock has shown you a weak section.

It is not, however, thirteen days that should come out of your written-examination preparation. The MPT is a qualifying gate at 33% with no negative marking; the written papers set your merit. If your MPT work was already proportionate, the honest use of this extra fortnight is to keep it proportionate — a second mock you would otherwise have skipped, one weak section properly worked — and let the rest go to the written stage. Thirteen days spent inflating screening-test preparation is thirteen days taken from the exam that actually decides your result.

The gap between screening and written has narrowed slightly. You clear the MPT on 10 October, and on the earlier advance calendar the written examination does not begin until 27 January. If that holds, this cycle hands you approximately three and a half months between qualifying and the exam that decides your result, with the anxiety of qualification behind you and no other deadline competing for your attention.

That is still the most valuable feature of this calendar and almost nobody is discussing it. The MPT is a qualifying test: it filters, it does not rank. Your merit position is set by the written examination and the interview that follows. Aspirants who take those months seriously will sit the written papers having done three and a half focused months of essay practice, précis work and optional-subject reading. Aspirants who spend the rest of October recovering from the test, and November waiting for the advertisement, will sit the same papers having done perhaps six weeks of real work.

Same calendar. Very different outcomes.

What to do, and when

Now. If you applied, confirm the application is complete rather than assuming it. Then sit a full-length mock under real conditions: 200 questions, 200 minutes, no phone. Through 9 October. Prepare for the screening test, proportionately. Fix whichever section the diagnostic exposed, and sit a second mock late enough to measure whether the fix held.

From about 30 September. Download your admission certificate from fpsc.gov.pk. Nobody will remind you.

Saturday, 10 October. Sit the test. There is no negative marking, so leave nothing blank.

One thing to fix in your planning

Redraw your plan against 10 October this week rather than next, and check every date you are working from against the list above. Anything printed before 19 August 2026 — a coaching centre's timetable, a downloaded study plan, your own calendar — is still running on the 27 September date and is now wrong by thirteen days.
